Four Patch Pillow

 

Goal:  What will be learned by this project?

To sew straight, follow directions, match seams, press, select fun color combinations, and stuff a pillow.

 

Materials Needed:

grnpushpin.gif (1016 bytes) Two 10" x 10" squares from fabric A.
grnpushpin.gif (1016 bytes) Two 10" x 10" squares from fabric B.

grnpushpin.gif (1016 bytes) Matching thread to complement colors chosen.
grnpushpin.gif (1016 bytes) Sewing notions, scissors, tape measure, pins, etc.

 


Directions to make this project:

Lay one small square of B right side up. Lay one square of A wrong side up on top. They are "right sides together" the way most seams are sewn. Stitch this 5/8" from cut edge. Press seam open.

Repeat step 1 with the other two squares. Lay one sewn together piece on top of the other. Lay so that fabric A is on top of fabric B and visa-versa. This gives you a checkerboard effect. See Diagram. Stitch this 5/8" from cut edge. The pillow top is complete.

Press open seams.
